My Story

All Planned Pethood dogs and puppies are altered (spayed/neutered) and fully vetted prior to adoption. Dog breed is a best guess by the vet and/or Petfinder breed expert findings. We cannot guarantee breed, weight, age of dogs or final adult size of puppies.

Four 8 week old Keeshound puppies. There are three females and one male--Rumor is one of the females. Keeshond puppies surrendered by their breeder. These little softy dogs are so excited to be alive they will fill your house with joy. They are superbly confident when introducing themselves to people and other animals but, they do not jump on them. They have a complete ‘come play with me, come play with me’ attitude, but can entertain themselves just as well. They absolutely love to take baths and already enjoy walking. > Rain is the comedian of the group and loves to ham it up for the crowd. She captures you with laughter the minute she comes in the room and does something to make you laugh again and again. She is quite the budding actress and is a theater unto herself. A true bundle of happiness, she always appears to be smiling. Rumor loves her play toys. This girl can entertain herself or have you join in. She e loves to throw her own toy squeak ball and run after it and throw it and run after it again or, all of a sudden, pounce on her toys with all four paws almost like a cat. Be careful though, she likes to sneak his plush stuffed animals outside and hide them. Rosalita is most affectionate and can’t wait for you to give her a big hug. She’ll come to you and wait patiently until you let her know its okay for a hug. She most resembles a small panda bear. Romulus is a team player and always follows where the action is. He likes to play tug o war with his brothers and sisters. Instigator of tomfoolery – whatever the other dog has he wants it and will certainly try for it, making for some very creative playtime and mild puppy wrestling. Keeshonds LOVE children and are excellent family dogs, preferring to be close to their humans whenever possible. They generally get along with other dogs as well and will enjoy a good chase around the yard. Keeshonds are very intuitive and empathic and are often used as comfort dogs. Most notably, at least one Keeshond, Tikva, was at Ground Zero on 9/11 to help comfort the rescue workers. The breed has a tendency to become especially clingy towards their owners, even in comparison to other dogs. If their owner is out, or in another room behind a closed door, they may sit, waiting for their owner to reappear, even if there are other people nearby. Many have been referred to as their "owner's shadow," or "velcro dogs". Foster-PPI-37 ID#081507.1-Rain, ID#081507.2 Romulus, ID#081507.3 Rosalita and ID#081507.4-Rumor 8/18/7

Did you know that Planned Pethood takes in only animals from the NW Ohio area? By sponsoring a Planned Pethood animal you'll be helping the local dogs and cats, not ones being brought in from hundreds of miles away. Click Here to donate.
