I am Rae! As in Sweet Baby Rae! I am a 3-year-old, 44-pound , loving, affectionate girl who is grateful to have been rescued off the street. All I needed was some hugs and cuddles. I am house-trained and don’t like to chew on your slippers or get into trouble. I’m not really a fan of toys, but I do like a bone or an antler to gnaw on. They say I am a cattle dog, who knows, but I'm definitely a charmer. I am totally house and crate trained, although I do like sleeping as close as possible to my peeps’ bed – perhaps even under the bed! I would love a home with a fenced yard for plenty of exercise because I have a ton of energy – in fact, I may pull a bit at the beginning of a walk, so harnesses make me feel safe and comfy.
I am very interested in cats and none of them have picked a fight with me yet. I do well with respectful children. When I go to the dog park, I like to play police and tell other dogs not to shout so much. I know “sit,” “down,” “go for a ride,” “go for a walk” and “bedtime.” I am a smart girl and a quick learner because food is a HUGE motivator. Speaking of food…I can only have special food for dogs with diabetes. It makes me very thirsty. They tell me that because I almost starved to death, I will need insulin for the rest of my life. I don’t mind my shots though, because they are always followed by mealtime!
My living arrangements can be flexible...a home with a fenced yard, your co-pilot on long haul's or an apartment with a fenced dog park would be fine.
My adoption fee is sponsored and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting us, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form!
