My Story

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more herePriya is a sweet and affectionate 1-year-old pup who's still learning her way around the world. She's a gem of a dog who enjoys people, pets, and cuddles once she warms up to you, but doesn't have to be right next to you 24/7. She's sweet and polite with a great mix of gentleness and playfulness. Treats are the way to her heart, and that strong food motivation makes her easier to train. Once you're buds, she'd love some chin/cheek/belly rubs, please. Priya sleeps through the night on the couch or on a dog bed in your room. She loves chewing on frozen Kongs, squeaky balls, and toys. Priya is a beautiful loose-leash walker. Most of the time, she'll trot at your side, and sometimes behind you. Treats help for getting engagement from her on walks, but she is always happy to give you attention! Training progress: - She's impeccably potty-trained and well-behaved at home and on-leash. - She's smart and will pick up training cues quickly! - She's not crate trained, but has been left alone for short stints of time without destruction. Things to be aware of: - Priya can be shy with people and anxious, prone to startling at fast or unexpected motions. This has been improving as she gets more relaxed in her foster home. - She does not like to be left alone at home, but she's fine being in another room as long as you're nearby. - Priya is alert but not reactive when she sees other dogs and sometimes tries to walk towards them, though she can be redirected easily. - Her prey drive comes out when she sees cats or squirrels, but again, she can be redirected pretty quickly. Priya is already a great dog with the potential to be exceptionally well-trained, given time and care. Follow her in foster with @such_good_dogs on Instagram!
