My Story

Prince has found his forever home with the Whitechurch family in Medfield, MA

UPDATE 9/18: Prince has come back to us because his adopter turned out to be allergic to him. He is being fostered in Blackstone, MA and will be at our two adoption events this weekend--Medfield Animal Shelter 11:00-12:30 Saturday 9/20 and Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole Sunday 9/21 from 10am to 2pm

Prince was found running on a busy highway. His rescuer pulled off to the side of the road and Prince immediately came running to her. Prince's reaction to his rescuer shows his good nature: He rolled over for a belly rub right away. Prince is a Lab/Shepherd mix. He has all the good qualities of both breeds. He is 78 lbs and 1 1/2 to 2 years old. He is housebroken, crate trained, and knows 'shake.' Here is what his foster has to say: "I can't say enough good things about Prince. He is one of the most gentle and loving dogs I've ever had the privilege to foster. He is without a doubt, the epitome of what anyone would want in a dog. He seldom barks, but yet I feel he would give his life if his family was in danger. Dogs love unconditionally, but I think Prince goes above that. He has a very big heart and doesn't appear to have an aggressive bone in his body. If I were the last person on earth and could choose a dog to live out my days with, it would be Prince." Prince deserves a very special home and family! He is so close to perfect and with a good family and some obedience training he would be perfect. We would prefer a fenced yard for Prince, because on leash walks, with his size, he might pull (especially if he sees a squirrel he might like to chase!). We're quite sure he can be trained not to pull, and there are "Easy Walk" and "Gentle Leader" harnesses, etc which would prevent him from pulling, but it still would be preferable if Prince found a home with a fenced in yard. Can you give Prince the home he deserves? Adoption fee is $375
