My Story

Hi, my name is Poppy, and I am a 8-month-old, adorable Shepherd mixed breed girl. I’m as cute as they come, and I can’t wait to find my fur-ever home with you! I’m a feisty, independent little gal with lots of personality. I am on my way to being a large-size lady. I am working hard on crate training, and I'm getting really good at letting you know when I need to go outside. I'm still a puppy, so I require frequent potty breaks. I love to play with my stuffed moose and other dogs. Respectful kids are great. I recently learned that I have major jumping skills, so I need a home with at least a 6 foot fence, no apartments for me! I don't think I want to live with any cats, but I would love another dog to play with! Remember, I’m still Poppy the puppy, so you’ll need to teach me human play manners, just like I learned dog-play manners. I love snuggles by the fire and I have an appetite that rivals a high school football player. I’m quite opinionated and like to tell you all about it, so apartment life may not be for me. My favorite pastime is playing with my ball or chasing leaves around the yard – I’m getting really good at it, too! If you think we could be a furever match, submit an application to meet me! I am currently enrolled in the Pups for Parole training program. Upon graduation, I will have all the basic training necessary to make a great companion. I will need a family willing to continue my training, I sure don't want to forget all that I learned! **As a reminder, puppies will need lots of time and attention during the first year. Before adopting me, please make sure that you have enough time, energy and commitment to devote to my training. Puppies need a lot of care, so everyone in your household should be on board and ready to help out** **Rescue One is unable to provide an exact prediction of how big or small your rescue puppy will become when full grown. Any approximation provided is no guarantee.** My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
