My Story

Poppie came to us as a stray through PACC so we know nothing of his history but what he tells us - and he must have a sad story to tell if he could. He is an older lab mix (~10),  that no doubt was someone's long time pet. Whether he was left or strayed we don't know but here he is ready to give his fullest to a new loving home.

He has been with us only a short time but has made fast friends with my two young male dogs, now and then engaging in their play. He only shows his age in the white around his muzzle and how calm he is, he has no trouble walking or jumping, he doesn't seem stiff at all. I don't think he would do well with cats, though mine will not test that one way or another. He is completely housebroken, he does not bark much at all. He does fine on a leash, and likes his walks. The only time he has shown any protest is when his collar is pulled especially when sitting high up on his neck, perhaps he was hurt sometime using that method as a restraint. Poppie is a sweet, very loving dog (he gives wet doggie kisses all day long), he is a bit shy and seems quite unsure. He needs to be settled in a permanent home where he can feel secure and blossom. He will be the perfect calm, quiet company for that person who can open their heart and home to an older, displaced member of our companion community.(no small children please)
