Pokie isn't your typical gun dog. Spaniels are brave and not afraid of loud noises. Our little Pokie, on the other hand, is nervous and definitely does not handle unexpected loud sounds.
That doesn't mean he's a bad dog...Maybe just not a great hunting partner. Pokie is a sweet boy but he's working on being courageous. Being around friendly dogs can sometimes help him get out of his nervous habits. What Pokie really needs is someone to get him out of the stressful shelter environment and into a calm, quiet home where we can learn that life isn't so scary. We think a home with older kids who know how to behave around dogs could help him a lot!
