MARCH 12, 2005: AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NOW
Pluto is a trained sled dog. He is 5 years old. He is handsome and robust, although his left eye is missing. Pluto is an active boy. His previous owner says that he was not fast enough for her team, and couldn't go far enough.
Pluto went mushing with our volunteers on March 4th:
"This boy did excellent!! He is a 5 year old male with a missing eye and is probably 40-45lbs but should be 50-55. Pluto is good with other dogs, LOVES to go, and is straight forward and all business. He has a nice gait, is driven, and is easy to handle. Pluto would make a great rec dog or distance dog. We wanted to try him in lead but didn't have another dog that his neighbor would get along with. I bet he would be great though. Pluto is a real nice boy and would make an excellent addition to a team. I LOVE this dog. He is friendly with people and walked right into the shelter like he had been in houses before."
Pluto went out again, skijoring this time, on March 5th:
"Pluto did awesome! Ran in a two-dog skijor team and did fine up front! Doesn't know commands but is driven and fairly fast. Fine with other dogs and a little wild, but fairly easy to handle."
