Pita

"She's such a beauty!" "Wow, is she gorgeous!" "What a sweet & loving girl!" These are just the typical things we hear when people meet Pita! She's a big gal, around 80-pounds, and believes she is a lap dog! Pita will climb onto your lap for snuggles and will give the best kisses. She has the best head tilt when she hears a squeaky toy. She also believes she is a lap-dog. Pita is one of those amazing dogs who truly just wants your affection and will do anything she can to be your best friend. Some dogs are most interested in other dogs, some are most interested in food or their toys and then some dogs, like Pita here, are most interested in people! She takes a little time to get to know you and then she is your bestie! We've found that yummy treats and a slower introduction is most comfortable for her. As long as you give her a chance to get to know you, her acclimation is pretty quick! She sits like a good girl and then takes the treats gently like the sweetheart that she is. She also knows how to lay down and wait. Perfect manners. Pita has lived around a couple of other dogs before and doesn't seem to mind them when she is out on walks. She's had some great body language with super-friendly, silly, playful pups here at the shelter. We've also noticed she seems to do better with dogs who are her size or smaller. One of her cutest interactions was with a lil' female terrier mix! She has lived with kitties and has done well! Older kiddos, maybe 10ish or so and older, would be great! We could absolutely see Pita being the best snugglebug in the whole world. We could see her being your very best friend. If you'd like to adopt Pita, stop by the shelter to meet her! She is about five years old and is spayed.
