My Story

Indigo Rescue will be at the Beaverton PetSmart (Walker Rd at Cedar Hills Blvd) Saturday, October 3. PIPPI WILL BE THERE FROM NOON TO 2PM

Meet Pippi!

Pippi is an approximately 12 week old Australian Shephard / Boston Terrier mix puppy, she is super cute and sweet! Pippi really loves to play with toys and is having fun playing with the other (large) dogs in her foster home. She is getting lots of doggie socialization and learning important doggie manners! She is so fun to watch as she romps around in the yard like she is one of the big pups! Pippi is crate trained and is currently doing very well working on potty training.

Pippi will need a family that understands the importance of training a puppy. We want her to be the very best she can be which means starting her training now when she is very young. She needs to know that she is not in control, Australian Shepherds are very smart and learn quickly but can also be a little stubborn and need to be properly trained. Pippi will be a fantastic dog if someone takes the time to work with her but if she is not trained properly she will not be much fun to be around, its all up to her family to make her a wonderful companion!

Pippi needs a family with no children under 12 years old, she is a herding breed, this type of dog can be nippy with small children because they are trying to herd them.

Adoption fee $250 (includes spay, current vaccinations, microchip)

Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes.

All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have adoption events at the Beaverton PetSmart every other Saturday where you can meet many of our dogs at once. Click Here for our Calendar of Events. Or, if you're interested in a particular dog, you can send an e-mail via the e-mail link at the bottom of the page ("Email Indigo Rescue") with answers to the questions below. If the dog seems compatible with your situation we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog.

Do you have other pets now? (briefly describe)

Have you had pets in the past? What became of them?

What kind of exercise will you provide for the dog? (type/frequency)

What is your schedule like? How long/often will the dog be alone?

Where will the dog be while you're gone? Where will the dog be when you're home? Where will the dog sleep?

Who else lives in the home? Do you have children? How old are the children?

Are you in a home or apartment? How long have you lived there? Do you have a fully, securely fenced yard? (type/height)

Do you own or rent your home?

What changes in your life are likely in the next 10+ years (or life span of the dog) and how will the changes affect the dog? (moving, job or schedule change, school, having children)

Anything else you'd like us to consider in finding the right dog for your family?

Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life!
