My Story

Hi there! My name is Piper and I'm a darling mixed breed puppy. I was born on 5/7/10 to Prima, a very sweet and playful 20 pound Beagle mix (in photo #3 and also up for adoption). My siblings and I all look different - a real Heinz-57 bunch! Of all of my siblings, I look most like mom. I have a black coat with white coloring under my chin, on my chest and a cool triangle looking patch on my nose. I also have long floppy ears and just about the sweetest face ever!

I'm living in the comfort of a wonderful foster home with my siblings. I'm socializing with people and other animals, and I'm also learning good puppy manners manners. I'm a very inquisitive and smart girl. I'm also quite affectionate and will snuggle right up with you. I'll make a great family pet, so please stop by and meet me today!

****My adoption fee is $325.****

The Animal Rescue Project is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues—and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed.

All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws.

Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $25 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization.

All Animal Rescue Project pets also receive a Home Again microchip prior to adoption and one month of free medical insurance. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.
