My name is Piper and I am a beautiful, tri-colored collie. I was picked up as a stray by Animal Control and CAAWS saved me just in time! I was very skinny (I weighed only 39 pounds!) Who knows how long I was on the streets. Well, all of that has changed now! I have a wonderful foster home who feeds me lots of good food and gives me lots of Love. I have gained weight and I feel much better! I was born about 3/01. I am spayed, up to date on shots, I do have those old nasty heartworms, but as soon as I have gained a little more weight, I can be treated, CAAWS will pay for my treatment. I am one of the sweetest girls in the world...I am a bigtime lapdog...I love to lay beside you and wrap my legs around you, giving you lots of hugs. I am very laid back and calm and like to lay my head in your lap. I love to be petted, that's my favorite thing in the world. I am starving for attention and love. I sometimes get a little protective of my food when the other dogs try to eat out of my bowl, but that's just because I went for so long with no food. I am good with cats, children and anyone who drops by to visit. I would do best in a home with another dog who is not aggresive. I am not agressive myself, I just don't like anyone eating my food. I love to chase birds, but of course, I never catch them. They are just fun to bark at. If you are looking for a sweet, sweet girl who deserves a second chance at happiness, I am the one for you.
