9/22/09 We are SO HAPPY to report that Peyton has gotten a sponsor and has started heartworm treatment. Yea, for Peyton. He will be treated and vetted over the next few weeks and will be in a NH foster home shortly unless he is adopted first. He still has the wonderful, calm temperament he has always had and they are hoping to put some weight on him as well. He should most likely weigh somewhere in the 80lb-90lb range and he is as gentle as a lamb. if Peyton is adopted when he comes to NH he will have to be kept quiet and on low activity for 6 weeks. After that he will neutered (he has to be past his HW treatment) and then can be officially adopted. Adoption fee will not be due until he is neutered and ready to run run run again. This big guy has had a long journey but it will just get better for him from here on our. YEA for Peyton!!! 8/25/09 A gentle giant, another great dog abandoned at the county shelter. Peyton is currently being held by Animal Control. His time is up but they keep passing him by since his temperament it so outstanding. Peyton weighs at the moment 60lbs but obviously needs a lot of weight to gain. He is a big beautiful boxer mix who needs to find a home ASAP! Peyton is very sweet and loving and easy to handle. He does great on a leash and is a well-mannered boy. He is just an all-around great dog! His face looks so much like a boxer and his markings and coloring too. He has a bushy tail and stands taller than a traditional boxer though. He has been at animal control for a long time and doesn't have much time left. Please help save Peyton!!! If you are interested in fostering/adopting this boy do let us know. He will be heartworm tested, neutered, temperament tested, can be tested with cats etc. WIth his mild disposition they cannot imagine he won't pass all his tests with flying colors.
