My Story

Peter is a beautiful seal/white male IG puppy. He is 7months old (almost anyway - he was born Nov. 27, 2005) and very active as are all IG's pups.

Peter was purchased at a petstore and the family realized that this breed is not a fit for thier family and contacted us. He had been adopted but due to a problem with the landlord, he had to come back to rescue. He is very friendly but like any IG puppy, doesn't always realize that he isn't indestructible.

He loves to eat, sleep and annoy the older dogs every chance he gets. Normal puppy behavior. He needs (wants) lots of attention and does well in a crate during the day. He is doing very well with potty training and will go outside or on potty pads. He doesn't quite tell you when he needs to go, but I wait about 1/2 hour after feedings and he goes right away. Loves everyone, young, old, children, babies, the cat next door. He does play rough, as most boys do, so would do well without a fragile dog already in the home.

Before applying for any IG, particularly a puppy, please review www.italiangreyhound.org and ensure this is the breed for you. Housetraining an IG can be very difficult and can take more than a year with many regressions throughout thier lifetime.

We are very cautious placing small IG's with families that have young children due to the fragile legs that break very easily and can cost over $2000 to repair.

If you are interested in this or any other dog being fostered by IGCA Rescue - Colorado, please contact our state Rescue Coordinator (Tracy - [email protected]) to start the adoption paperwork process.
