Persephone

*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Persephone! 11-year-old Persephone needs a loving new home for her golden years. Unfortunately, her owner is moving and has not been able to find affordable housing that allows pets. He adopted her 5 years ago from the San Diego Humane Society in Oceanside. Persephone is described as a social and friendly with people. She does well with children and becomes very playful once she has a chance to warm up. Like many senior dogs, Persephone sleeps a lot throughout the day, but she still enjoys going for walks around her neighborhood. She is house-trained and knows how to use a doggie door. Persephone doesn't have a lot of experience with cats, but her preference is to avoid them. With dogs she is just meeting, Persephone prefers her own space until she is comfortable and avoids rather than engages. Once she feels comfortable and safe, Persephone may curl up next to the other dog. Only if an unknown dog corners her does she growl or nip at, but she has never injured another dog.
