My Story

Say hello to Percy! He came to TCHS due to not being the right fit for his previous home. Percy's people described him as happy and eager to please. He knows "sit" and "lay down" and once he's bonded with his family, he is reliable off the leash with good recall. He has previously lived with cats, children, a rabbit, and other dogs. He is friendly and social with all of them. He's been dog selective in the past and his previous humans did not take him to the dog park in case he came across a pup that he didn't care for. Percy has not batted an eye towards other dogs at TCHS and has appeared uninterested when passing. He would like to meet any future canine siblings before going home with them to feel them out first. It can take weeks or months for animals to settle into their new homes, time and patience are your best tools while transitioning. Percy previously spent a short time living on a farm and got along great with the livestock and loved running around outdoors. His family said he would thrive best with lots of exercise and playtime to help him positively express anxious energies. His favorite toys are large stuffed animals, which he loves to chase and tear up. He's not a huge fan of tennis balls or sticks. He is crate-trained and is used to sleeping in his crate at night. He can be vocal at times but is quiet and content when his humans are around. Percy will need extra time and patience to settle into his new environment, but he has LOTS of love to give. Percy weighs about 22 pounds. Come meet him today! Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, de-worming, any medical procedures and general care.
