My Story

Arrival story:Pepper was found as a stray and taken to a shelter. Waggin Tails took Pepper so he would not have to be euthanized since his owners never came for him.

Approximate age:The vet tells us Pepper is between 7-9 years of age but don't let that fool you. Cockapoos can live to be 18-20 years old!

Personality:Pepper is a sweet boy who was obviously living in a home before being lost. He is housetrained and does not need to be crated. Doesn't pay attention to other dogs or cats and just likes to hang out.

Forever home:A person or family who is looking for a somewhat low maintenance dog. Because he is older, he does not have a high energy level and he's already used to living in a home. While he doesn't mind other animals, he does not like other dogs being overly hyper with him so a quieter lifestyle would be best suited for Pepper. This breed mix can live to be quite old so he still has many years of love, life to give someone. Maybe it could be with you?

Contact:Sandra at [email protected] or call 248.788.7050 and leave a voicemail message. Someone will call you back.

Waggin' Tails Adoption Information: Waggin' Tails Dog Rescue has a standard adoption fee of $175, or $200 for puppies plus a $50 deposit which is returned upon proof of spay/neuter at six months of age. Our adoption process includes an application, vet reference checks, and a home visit.

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. With few exceptions, we show our adoptable animals on Saturdays from 12pm - 3pm at Petco in Novi (on Novi Rd south of 12 mile) or Petco in Farmington Hills (Orchard Lake south of 14 mile). Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
