Pepe ADOPTED:)

Pepe was a stray dumped on the side of a country road that ended up in the Cedar Rapids shelter. They are full so we took Pepe in to help him and to make room so they can help another dog. He is up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative, and neutered. He is going to our vet today to get checked over and he does have bad teeth he got cleaned. He is now living in a foster home.

Pepe is about 13 years old. He is really sweet if you move slowly and loves bellie rubs. He just needs a loving owner to bond with him.

8/9/10 UPDATE: Pepe is a sweet little guy! He is completely housetrained and has never had an accident. We do not crate him and he waits patiently for us to let him out to go potty. If he really has to go he will go to the door and wait for you. Pepe likes to spend his day sitting in the sun or next to my husband in the chair. He does well with cats and he does well with other dogs but will growl occasionally at another dog if he feels scared. Pepe is a real sweet little guy and despite his age, he is still a lively little guy that runs around the house and barks at you when he is ready to come back in from going potty. He would love a home where he can sit with you and watch tv!

9/2/10 UPDATE: Pepe is a sweet little guy that loves to sit on your lap. He doesn't jump except to sit in the chair with you. He is not much of a barker and enjoys spending his days sleeping on the couch. Pepe likes to run around outside but if its a little chilly out he will do his business and be ready to come right back inside. Pepe does well with our kids, but should be handled carefully because he is an older boy and has some soreness. We have been giving him a joint supplement to make this less painful for him. Pepe does well with other dogs but if the dog is bigger than him he might growl at them at first only because he is scared of getting stepped on. Pepe also does well with the cats and sleeps with them. He is a great little dog that needs a good home where he can live out the rest of his life.

Will someone please adopt Pepe and give him a forever home? $25.00 adoption fee. (his vet bill will be high but we will keep his adoptuion fee low at $25)

To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
