Introducing the most adorable petite pooch, Penny! Penny is a 8-month-old Dachshund/Beagle mix. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Swainsboro, GA alongside her sister Petunia. These poor girls were dumped with no hope in sight, but thanks to HFGDR, they got their second chance! Penny currently weighs about 14 lbs and will be a small-sized girl once fully grown. Prior to being rescued, Penny suffered an injury to her front right paw. She was found with a wire tightly wrapped around her foot, cutting off circulation. Luckily, she received all the proper veterinary attention and is now fully healed. Due to Penny's past, she can be quite shy when meeting new people. Though, with just a little patience and TLC, she will surely be your best friend. Having another dog around makes Penny instantly a little bit more comfortable and confident. Because of this, she must go home with at least one confident canine to continue boosting her confidence. Penny has so much fun playing with soft and squeaky toys, playing chase with her canine friends, or just watching the birds fly by. Penny would do best with older children who can be patient with her while she gets comfortable, and she would love to go home with cats. She is also working diligently on her leash, crate, and house training. Penny is looking forward to her new lease on life with her forever family!
