Pee Wee was found as a stray on the streets of Staten Island. Terrified at the shelter and not eating, he kept his tiny body curled up in the corner of his cage. We took pity on him and rescued him from his pending fate. Once in his foster home, it took him no time at all to start eating and warm up to his foster family of two adults, three kids, one dog, and three cats.

Pee Wee is a 10-pound short-haired Chihuahua with some Jack Russel terrier mixed in. Cute as can be, he’s probably 8 or 9 years old, happy, and energetic--unless it's nap time, of course. He has a sweet, timid Chi personality and quickly attached to his foster mom. He follows her everywhere, and his favorite place to be is on her lap. When he wags his little tail and shyly looks up at you, it will melt your heart. He’ll then put his front legs up on yours in hopes of being petted or picked up. He’s a little dancer when it comes to food, stepping around on his hind legs, front paws crossed across his chest. His belly is full of adorable blotchy gray spots, and he loves having his tummy rubbed. He’s a pretty quiet dog, doesn’t yap and or carry on. He's a delight to walk, doesn't pull or bark. He loves his walks, too, so a fenced-in backyard is optional for this little guy. Pee Wee is neutered and has had his teeth cleaned, so he's ready to go, eager to join his forever family. He is best suited for a quieter home, perhaps with a single person or couple with teenage or grown children. He'll be fine with other dogs or cats or as an only pet. This sweet boy is in good health and ready to spend the rest of his life on your lap. Please give Pee Wee a chance to work his way onto your lap and into your heart. You are guaranteed to have an adorable and faithful friend!
