Pecan

Pecan came to CVHS when his beloved owner had to change her living situation for medical reasons, and could no longer keep him. Pecan had been her constant companion his whole life, providing both physical and emotional support. In the past, on the rare times he was left home alone, he patiently waited by the door for his owner to return, or watched out the window. He's a very calm dog, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys leisurely roaming our fenced-in yards. Pecan did not have interactions with other dogs in his previous home, but here he is showing loose, happy body language when he sees other dogs, and we plan to get him playing with others soon. His only exposure to cats was seeing neighbor cats through a window, and he barked at them. He has not had any exposure to kids, and sometimes fast movements seem to startle him, so he'd do best with bigger kids, like teenagers, who will understand he's still learning about children. Pecan's life has been turned upside down over the past month, with a big move to another state and home, and then losing his person, and joining us at CVHS. He always appears that he is giving very serious thought to each new experience, and we are looking forward to seeing more of the happy wiggles he has shown toward some dogs, expressed more often! A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Pecan's $350.00 adoption fee.
