My Story

Due to an overwhelming number of phone calls asking about the puppies currently available at the Junction City/Geary County Animal Shelter, an adoption list is being created for each puppy. If you are interested in the puppies, please stop by the shelter during their business hours, look at the puppies, and then ask for an adoption application.

Those interested in adopting puppies must be willing to fill out the application completely, to include personal references and a veterinarian reference. Your references will be checked. You must also be willing to allow the shelter director to conduct a home visit.

Additionally, by adopting one of these puppies, you promise to have the puppy spayed or neutered when it is old enough (about 4 months for male puppies, 5 months for female puppies). The shelter director retains the right to remove the puppy from your home if you fail to have it fixed as promised.

Please do not call the shelter with questions about these puppies at this time. Stop in during business hours when staff are free to talk with you about them. If you are calling from out of town, too far away to stop by for an application, one can be mailed to you.

SHELTER HOURS

Monday thru Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
2324 N. Jackson, Junction City, KS 66441

Thank you for your interest in these puppies, and your cooperation in this adoption process. Our shelter 's staff is very limited, and while they want to assist you in finding the right dog for your home, they just don't have the spare time to answer phone calls during the mornings when they need to be cleaning and caring for the animals.

THANK YOU!

"My new name is Peanut, and you can just see for yourself what a sweet little boy I am! I'm a Cairn Terrier, my hair is a black and tan mix, and still have my baby teeth--the shelter staff think I'm probably 3-4 months old now. I'll be available for adoption on April 27th, if my owners haven't claimed me by them."
