My Story
PATTY - Yes...I am an adorable, two year old female Pit Bull...not an "exploded Boston Terrier" as I have been described. I was initially in Animal Control as a stray...like so many, I was just one of many Pit Bull Terriers waiting for an owner to claim me...which never happened. I was one of the lucky ones saved from euthanasia...with the huge numbers of Pit Bull's that end-up in Animal Control and so few owners available, the end results for many are not as positive. Thanks to several caring employees and volunteers at Animal Control (who worked desperately to "save" me), rescue intervened on my behalf. (I love my "angels" at Animal Control...apparently they saw what an awesome little gal I am!) I was called "Pistol Patty" at Animal Control, but my foster mom dropped "Pistol" saying "convicts can't have guns"...smile. I am very people friendly (but too much for small children), active, sometimes a bit over-eager (typical happy dog), entertaining, loves toys, walks nicely on a leash, playful, quite agreeable, adores hikes and walks, good house manners, rides well, learning not to "mouth" play with positive training, knows some basic commands and eager to please, so I try to learn quickly. I do have some skin issues that occurred before arriving at Animal Control, but staff, volunteers and donators rallied together to get me the treatment I needed. I am fine thanks to some caring friends, medication and good, quality food (fish and potato)...I have greatly improved. I am definitely more people oriented than other dog oriented, so can be a bit testy around other dogs (I settle down after a few days with patience and a muzzle). I would probably do best as an only dog. I am happy, delightful and would make a tremendous "upbeat" companion. Oh yes, forgot to mention...I am exceptionally cute too! If you are looking for an awesome, medium size (40 pounds) companion that would adore everything about you, be excited to be with you, love you with all her heart...I am the gal you are looking for. Let's get together soon...I am very eager to begin my new life and be your loyal, life-long companion!!
