My Story

Our girl Patty fits into your arms, like a burger patty between 2 warm buns! Patty is SO scared in the loud shelter and will shake non-stop, but the one thing that makes her feel better is quality time with her humans. She looks to you and leans into you for comfort. A girl this sweet doesn't belong in the shelter! Patty is available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet her any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email [email protected]. Video: Patty gets pets: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/HSEu-2xbNR8?feature=share Corrie and Patty 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI-ZqpWe4nM Corrie and Patty 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRlYSNSi-cQ Behavior: 7/26 Per volunteer-- Patty presented to the front of kennel and was wiggly. She was easily leashed. Walked nicely through the kennels. She peed and pooped once outside. We did a dog meet with Patty and Corrie. Patty pulled on leash when seeing Corrie and was eager to meet her. Once meeting both Patty and Corrie walked nicely on leash together and did a leisurely stroll around the parking lot. They both did well walking by strangers. Patty was easily returned to kennel. Per Staff 7/26/24: Helped move Patty to a kennel as the Staff moving her got pulled away to another task. Patty greeted me in her crate with more confidence today, coming right to the door and doing excited toe taps! She was patient for leashing and came right out on her own. When we got to her new kennel she hesitated, and I thought she might need to potty so we went outside. Once outside Patty did a big shake off and zoomed around in circles. She was so happy to get out!! She jumped into my arms and allowed some all over pets and love and was just so loose and wiggly! When we went back inside she still pancaked at her kennel door, but allowed me to pick her up and lift her into the kennel. It seems like once Patty opens up with you, she's a zooming, wiggly girl! Per Volunteer 7/24/24: Poor lady is staying in the small crates in the back of the kennel. She was very scared and shaking when I greeted her. Super handler oriented lady! She allowed leashing very easily, and walks nicely. She leaned right into me no matter where I was and took pets all over. She looked to me for comfort and was very gentle. Outside she spent the whole time shaking. I also noticed she seems to be limping on (I think her back left leg). Didn't seem to be in pain but fell sideways a few times. Not very treat motivated, only cares about pets! Per Staff 7/24/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: stray KENNEL PRESENTATION: Patty was in a crate when the handler approached. SHe was sitting upright at the front with toes taps and some lip licks. WHen the handler opened the door she backed her head away from the leash but allowed the handler to over the head leash with no issue. SHe came out once secured. LEASH SKILLS: Walks on a mission; walks slow and focuses on the path ahead HANDLING: Patty was very nervous and scared when she first entered the room. She was trembling so hard she could barely stand upright. With time she began leaning in and her trembling slowed. She accepted pets and love from 3 different people and allowed all over handling. She was nervous and stressed but so tolerant. With more time she started eating treats off the floor and showed some interest in toys, but she's just too scared to really play. PLAY: Got a little bouncy and playful, but was very scared and kept it small and short lived TOYS: Minimal interest ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
