Pal

Pal is a 5-6 year old Cavalier or English Toy Spaniel mix who stands about 14' tall at the shoulder and is a little on the plump side at about 16 pounds.  He has a lovely, black coat that just begs to be brushed and stroked, and our little Pal will be happy to oblige if it means more time on your lap!

He was turned into the shelter as an owner surrender. One member of the family broke his/her leg and the other adult said, 'I don't want to have to take care of him.' And off to the shelter Pal went...He previously lived with children and dogs.

Pal is a happy dog who is friendly, outgoing and affectionate.  He is a good option for families with school aged kids, and those that include other dogs and/or cats.  He knows how to use the doggy door and hasn't shown the slightest indication of inappropriate digging, chewing or barking.

Pal appears to have sustained an injury to his back end long ago which has left him with some weakness in his rear legs.  It doesn't seem to affect him much - he can still jump upon a couch and scramble upon his foster mom's bed and he enjoys the usual doggy activities such as neighborhood walks and trips to the dog park.  His foster mom reports he carefully patrolled her yard and the dog park fence looking for openings to make his escape so his new home will need to have a very secure yard that has been carefully inspected for escape routes.
