My Story

6 month old Paddle was found emaciated and near death by the side of a road in Irving, Texas. Next to him was the lifeless body of his littermate. He was brought to the local shelter where he received critical care and survived against all odds! Paddle was most likely the product of backyard breeding. He was born with Polymicrogyria but fortunately for him, the symptoms are minor. He is blind and slightly clumsy but walks around just fine. His ability to learn seems quite normal, and he has no trouble recognizing people and other dogs. His only trigger is food - he gets very worked up during meal times and needs to be fed in a crate (or contained area) away from other pets. In many ways, Paddle is like a regular puppy with a sunny disposition. He’s extremely sweet and loving, enjoys squeaky toys and playing with water, and wants to snuggle all the time. He's mostly house trained, PERFECT in his crate, and walks well on leash once he becomes familiar with the route. Paddle is fostered in Manhattan and is available for adoption anywhere in the US as long as the adopter is willing/able to travel to NYC to meet and adopt him.
