Paco is new to New Hope care (Nov 20/07). He is coming from the Prince Albert SPCA. His time was up and the staff felt that he was such a nice boy that he deserved a 2nd chance.
Paco is an absolute super sweet boy who's only goal in life is to
please you. He is gentle and sweet, loves every person he meets, big
and small. His greatest joy is sitting pretty for you, asking for his
treat whether it be a doggie treat, his chew toy, or his favorite plush
ducky. He wants to be with you and looooves attention.
He is extremely intelligent and willing to learn new things and he
really seems to listen when you talk to him by cocking his head to soak
in all the instructions you are giving him. There is a lot going on
inside that brain of his. He's not the couch potato sort of guy, he
wants to be doing things with you and for you. He would make a
FABULOUS hiking/running partner or exercise companion. He would also
likely be excellent for dog sports as he loves to chase toys and can
entertain himself almost by himself just by chasing toys around in his
fenced play area. He knows how to pick *his* favorite toy out of a
pile of things, and knows what it is to go look for something in
particular. He knows what his "ducky" is, and if you ask him where it
is, he will think for a moment and then try to go find it.
And of course, he will make a wonderful family pet as he loves all ages,
men and women alike. He's curious about the cat, but gets along just
fine as you can see in the photo. He settled into his foster home
almost instantly and knows his name well.
He loves sleeping in the house at night and is good in the house all
day, doesn't need to be crated. He knows that the potty is outside and
will ask you to let him out. He's not a barker, and will only say
something if there's something worthwhile to be said. He's excitable
only if you get excited, and calm if you're calm. He really feeds off
the "vibe" of his people!
Paco is a medium sized boy that favors the border collie in his lineage
both size and color wise, as well as temperament. He has the most
luxurious silky jet black coat. He's happy indoors and out, and would
be suitable for a family wanting an active dog that can keep up with
them outdoors, but also be happy just chill'axin on the couch watchin
the game on TV as well. Watch for updates as we get to know Paco more
and introduce him to more and more new things!
