My Story

In Memory of sweet Otto, or Toto as his foster mom had re-named him. We wish to thank Deb Wolfe for taking old Toto in to her home to comfort and care for him. Toto has gone to the bridge today wrapped in the loving arms of his foster mom.
It takes a very special gift to be able to care for the older dogs who may not be with you long but it means so much to them. We know Otto enjoyed his last bit of time in Deb's home and we know there is no where else he would rather have been than in your care.
For anyone reading this who wishes to know more about how Otto came to be in need of foster care please read on. After 12 years in one place and with not much life left to live he found a warm bed and a caring soul to take him in. If you have it in your heart and have room in your home please consider hospice/foster care for older animals. The difference it makes in their lives is the best gift you can give a homeless senior. The gift you receive in return is incredibly rewarding. Please contact the shelter for more information on hospice/foster care for senior animals.

Otto Update February 10, 2005:

Otto has been living the best life he has ever known with his foster mom who has been spoiling him rotten. He gets the best food and lots of it, the most comfy bed, spends most of his time in front of the fireplace with his head on his foster mom's lap lovingly petting him.
Unfortunately, Otto's health is not good and his foster mom is afraid he will not be with her much longer. His hips ache and he has trouble walking most of the time. In the past few days he has not even been able to get himself up to go for the little walks he looked forward to each day for the last month and a half.
We wish to thank Deb Wolfe, Otto's foster mom, for taking this old soul into her home to give him the best of everything for what may turn out to be his last months of life. He will be kept comfy and cozy until he decides he is ready to go and Deb will be at his side then as she is now.

January 4th, 2005:
Otto is a gorgeous purebred 12 year-old rottie who found himself homeless after his breeder passed away.
He is now in a new foster home, and receiving lots of love. He deserves a quiet home, who will love him for his darling smile, and cherish him for the rest of his days.
Please email us,and we will put you in contact with those caring for him.
