Although Pittsburgh PA is shown as the organization's address, the needy German Shorthaired Pointers in GSP Rescue PA's program are fostered by volunteers throughout Pennsylvania!

OSCAR - SEPTEMBER 2010 - THIS FUN GOOFY GUY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!

• Oscar is a 69 lb neutered male. He is estimated to be about 4 years old. He was a stray taken into the Central PA Humane Society in Altoona. He neutered and up-to-date on all his shots.


• He is a great GSP. He could stand to shed a few pounds but with an active lifestyle I’m sure he will get back into shape.


• He knows sit, come, and stay. He is not a jumper. He is housebroken.


• He is trained on an invisible fence and is good in a fenced in yard.


• He loves to hunt chipmunks and chase birds and squirrels. Because of this he probably will not be good with cats.


• He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play with his two GSP buddies Ben and Wilma. He is a very active GSP who loves to swim. A kiddie pool is a must for him!


• He can be a couch potato too and loves to sleep and cuddle with you at night if you let him.


• He rides well in the car. He pulls on leash when fresh but after a little exercise, he settles to a nice easy stride.


• He is a big goofy guy who needs to find his forever home. Will you be the family who can give him that?

Although GSP Rescue PA's registered address is in Pittsburgh PA, there are volunteers, foster homes and needy German Shorthaired Pointers throughout the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - we are a statewide rescue program dedicated to assisting German Shorthaired Pointers that need to be rehomed. The GSPs are placed within the state of Pennsylvania only and a potential adopter application is required prior to consideration at GSP Rescue PA .

If you'd like to assist the unwanted German Shorthaired Pointers in Pennsylvania's GSP Rescue program in any way you can but fostering nor adopting are not an option, please consider being part of this worthy endeavor through funding or by volunteering your time in different ways.

Contributions to support the care needed for the German Shorthaired Pointers in our program are tax-deductible as GSP Rescue PA is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization. For adopters and beginning 1 July 2010, an adoption donation of $300 (not tax-deductible) is required to help offset direct veterinary care and placement expenses. We do not encourage 'gifts', nor make or promote 'free to good home' adoptions.
