Oreo was found abandoned at Hunter Park on the 4th of July weekend with two other siblings.
She was born approx 4/2023. Oreo got her name from the cute white ring
around her neck. She is super sweet, very energetic but loves cuddles and is working hard on
her manners. She is currently in an 8 week training program at Mabelle Basset Correctional Center 3/2024. She loves to be with her people and is good with other dogs but is still a puppy. Oreo would probably do better in a home with older children, younger dogs
but probably no cats. Oreo currently lives with two cats but sometimes she gets a little too
playful for their liking. In short, she likes cats, but cats don’t always like her. However, she is
never aggressive with the cats and the cats will sometimes even play with her a little.
Oreo is constantly hungry, since she was not fed well before we found her. She is never
aggressive with food, but she will eat pretty much any food in site even other dog’s food, so she
does have to be separated at dinner time. She is currently using a slow feeding bowl to help
with this issue. She has also learned to sit before she is fed. She is such a smart girl.
Oreo is kennel trained but would much rather be with her people. She loves to play with bones,
her people, and other dogs, but when sleepy, she’ll cuddle you and give you lots of kisses. She is
potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside, wither by ringing a bell or
barking at the door.
She would probably do the best with an experienced and patient dog owner who can help her
with her basic training and channel her puppy energy in a productive way.
