OREO

06/07/24 16:55 Notes from the foster. Oreo is doing amazingly well. It turns out he is just a chill, cuddly guy when he's not stressed in a kennel. I don't even think he's that high energy -- I would say medium energy, happy to be a couch potato with a couple nice walks or play sessions a day. We've had a few training sessions, and he's already making huge progress on stay, leave it, watch me, shake, spin (in a circle) and lie down. He has great recall, perfect house manners, is extremely polite with the cat and other dogs, does well in his crate, and is making great progress on loose-leash walking. His housebreaking is also progressing well. The one minor behavioral issue with him is just some mouthiness when he plays/gets excited because I don't think he differentiates humans and dogs while playing, but we're working on that and I don't expect it to be a long-term issue. (Minor mouthiness - no nipping/actual closing of teeth or anything, just kind of going through the world mouth-first like a puppy when he's excited). Basically, he is a perfect dog with a lot to learn but no real negative behaviors. He just wants to lie on your lap and cuddle you like a hefty weighted blanket. 02/03/24 17:17 Oreo is much like the cookie, a little hard on the outside and soft in the middle! This precious pup is on a journey of discovery, learning the ropes of being a dog one step at a time. Oreo is slowly but surely learning how to play and hes decided that he loves toys! Thanks to our wonderful volunteers and our playgroup partner, PACC, Oreos been making dog friends! Oreo will thrive with patient guidance and support from an understanding adopter who can continue to nurture his growing confidence.
