Come meet Opie and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Aug. 4th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)! Name:Opie Best Guess for Breed: Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of July 2024 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 10 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested. We would be cautious placing Opie in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant. Currently Living at: Texas shelter; scheduled to arrive in the DC area Saturday August 3 Opie is Looking For: Her forever home! This sweetie landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and she's eager to start her new chapter. The one where she gets to go on sniffy walks and explore the world with her own humans. The one where she gets quality kibble and a cushy dog bed (warm laps qualify!). And most of all - the one where she is safe and loved for all her days. She has so much to offer.
