Oliver is said to be a saint bernard mixed with a lab. His mother was a purebred Saint Bernard, and his father is a guess. He's chocolate brown, like a labrador, with a white chest and white toes. He was born in January or February of 2007. He's a big dog, weighing in at 71-pounds. He's very muscular, solidly built and he looks much larger than 71-pounds.
Oliver is current on his vaccinations. He just needs to be neutered before he can leave! Please consider donating to help with his expenses.
Oliver gets along well with most other dogs. He needs a home without cats or small animals, and no farm animals/livestock. He has been known to kill chickens, and chase livestock (which is why he is here). Oliver's previous home stated that he digs under and climbs over fences. He needs to be supervised when outside. Oliver would prefer a home where he has another dog to be friends with.
It seems that Oliver has a bad case of separation anxiety. He does not like to be alone (without a human), even on potty breaks. He is going to need a home where he can have someone with him all day. If you leave him alone in the house, he will literally whine, yodel, bark, and cry as loud as he possibly can, repetitively, until someone comes back. This only came to our attention recently, as we have someone home with him all day every day - until he was left at home Thanksgiving and barked himself hoarse! Leaving the TV or radio on and giving him a human scented clothing items don't work. We've tried. He really just needs someone to be home with him.
Oliver's adoption fee is $200.
