Odie

Odie was found as a stray puppy. He was lucky to land in a foster home while he underwent successful heartworm treatment. He proved to be a very smart and loyal dog. He is fun, silly, enjoys running around a yard, playing fetch and loves romping around with other friendly dogs. Odie has been known to find his leash and nudge or bring it to his human to ask for a walk. Odie can be vocal using his growl voice to express himself. This can be intimidating to some people. He is a wee bit weary of new people and vocalizes that, but if you go slow, basically ignore him when you first meet, then toss him a couple treats, soon enough you'll be off with a loving and loyal pooch. This is not uncommon behavior for dogs who lived their early life on the streets unsure of who to trust. Another common behavior among dogs in general but especially strays is resource guarding. Odie isn't extreme but he has been known to protect his food bowl and high value treats. He will do best in either a home as an only dog OR in a home with an dog owner who understands what it means to deal with resource guarding in a multiple dog home. There are LOTS of options to help with that. Odie was at risk of being killed at a local shelter before we pulled him. He has no bite history and deserves a forever home with someone who will match his unconditional and unwavering love. Please consider making Odie a part of your life.
