Oden *adopted*

Oden is a 2 yr old neutered male. He is a big boy at 160 lbs. and just gorgeous! He is the most loving sweet tempered Great Dane you can imagine. He is housetrained and will ring a bell to go outside. Is mostly trustworthy in the house when left out but may get a pillow or two if bored! He is crate trained and loves his crate….that is is safe spot and he will go in it on his own when tired or when there is just too much commotion going on. Good with other dogs, cats and birds. Oden was an owner surrender that couldn't afford to care for him anymore. When he came to us in February he had a bad case of Demodex, an auto immune skin condition that he is being treated for. His last test was clear but he will be on meds for another couple weeks to make sure. He is wonderful on leash and loves to go for walks and play at the dog park. He is a true "velcro" Dane in that he stays right with you wherever you go....he craves human attention. He becomes very bonded with his humans and sometimes will resource guard them if he doesn’t have a strong confident owner that will address this. With structure and patience he will adjust to a new home wonderfully. He loves to cuddle on the couch or where ever his people are and gets the silly zoomies after his baths or when he wants to play. He was a little weak in his backend when he first came to us because his owner was keeping him a crate 2 sizes too small but with exercise and good food and supplements this has been pretty much corrected. Oden should not go to a home with children under 12 yrs old….because of his size he will knock them down and he doesn’t tolerate it well when little ones grab or step on him.
