Meet Nutmeg! This sweet lab/pit mix is about 2 years old. Nutmeg came into the shelter nervous and unsure of herself, and pregnant. Due to her low weight, the vet team and shelter staff was worried about her delivering, so off she went to get fixed. Sadly, the surgery was difficult and she needed some extra TLC to help her recover. Now, she’s ready to steal your heart and not feel guilty about it. Nutmeg did come in with another dog (Rascal) and she was great with him. However, she does seem a little nervous still around other dogs. Nutmeg, based on her personality, would be amazing with cats and kids of all ages. When adopted, Nutmeg will need some extra TLC (to help gain her confidence as well as continuing to put the weight on her). The shelter staff feel that Nutmeg would thrive in a home environment where she could get even more love (and not have to share it between the 21 other dogs in the shelter). Also, Nutmeg is very camera shy… she feels that she’s not ready to be in front of the camera, the center of attention. Come in, bring her home, and show Nutmeg that she has always been ready to steal the camera… and your heart.
