Nova.... a combination of Sweet, Sass and Energy!!! She is a 15 month old rat terrier mix (maybe with chihuahua?) who has already found herself in a little bit of trouble. She is what we call a door dasher!! When she sees the opportunity to take off through an open door... she takes it. And boy is she super fast! In October, she took off through the door and was unfortunately hit by a car, breaking her front leg. She was surrendered to Noah's Hope and received medical care including surgery to repair her leg. Unfortunately, the prescribed bed rest was not on Nova's bucket list! Although her leg healed, it did not heal a 100% correctly and she now has a limp. She does not appear to be in pain but she may need arthritis medicine in the future. Nova is happiest when she's running around or chasing a ball. Although she would enjoy a fence in yard it would be more important that her new owners be able to keep her from dashing out the door unexpectedly. In her foster home she is picked up or leashed before opening the door. That seems to work! Once Nova has had enough exercise, she is happy to chill on the couch beside you. As with most terrier breeds, she will benefit from structure and training. Nova is working hard on potty training and being socialized with other dogs. She may have too much energy for little children but she loves her human friends. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $ 135.
