Nipsey Russell ~ The People's Pup

In 2022 we saw Nipsey Russell chilling on a street corner, listening to music with his dad and crew. He likes to sing, and came up smiling and wagging his tail. His body was covered in horrible infections, open scabs from scratching and a pungent smell. His dad said he couldn’t afford a vet but was treating him with motor oil. Nipsey had been like this for two years. We had to help this animal. We got him meds and he looked fantastic in just …a short time, but the infections came back. The dad contacted us a month ago for help finding a home where Nipsey can get the care he needs. A healthy diet, exercise and regular baths are the main ingredients. He weighs 56 lbs because he didn’t get walked all winter, so he needs to be on an rx diet and get walks. He is getting ear medications, two oral medications and needs a special bath at least twice a week. Nipsey is VERY good natured and takes it all likes a champ. He is healing beautifully, get walks by a five star trainer and is learning better habits in how to play with other dogs. He never had that opportunity before in life. And he really likes it!!! Right now, this incredibly resilient loving animal needs people to give him TLC and be strict with no treats so we can figure out the allergies. He is so easy to fall in love with. He is good with cats and kids and all people. He gets excited around other dogs and would like to have the right friend. Once his infections clear we will be able to transport him wherever he finds the perfect home. Someone is going to fall head over heels for this older and still has a lot of life guy!!! He can’t end up in a shelter situation- he has suffered enough!! He is quiet, behaves, holds his potty all night long and has the CUTEST tiny snores!! If you want someone to love you and be a BFF. This is your guy. He needs grass, some people and dog watching and healthy diet. He may have some special needs with meds, and even if he does, the vet is very very optimistic about his prognosis as long as he keeps losing weight!!! Everyone who meets Nipsey knows what a special guy he is- we want him to have a beyond his wildest dreams kinda future… adventures, clean home, comfy beds and lotsa friends of all kinds.
