My Story

Say hello to Niner! With his flashy brindle coat and splashy white chest, he's guaranteed to turn heads when you walk down the street. Niner came to us when his owner developed some health issues that stopped them from keeping up with this energetic young guy, so we promised we'd find just the right home for him. We - and he - are hoping that home might be yours. We think Ninr would do well living with a single person, a couple, or a family where any children are at least twelve years old. We'd like to introduce the whole household here at the shelter to make sure everyone starts off on the right foot - or paw. Niner has lived with other dogs and gotten along well with them, as well as with dogs who've visited his home. If you already have a dog or several at home, we'd also like to introduce them here to make sure their energy levels and play styles fit together well. He's not a fan of cats or other small pets, though, so he needs to go to a home without any of them in residence. Niner loves people and is always happy to make new friends. He enjoys being petted and won't turn down a treat if you offer. Word is that bacon-flavored treats are his favorite. Food-motivated dogs are fun to train, and training is a great way to bond with your new dog. Niner is full of energy, so you can use treats to teach him calm leash manners, as well as the basic commands that will make him a pleasure when you take him out and about in the neighborhood, or even hiking or jogging if you like being on the move. More fun facts about Niner: He's housetrained - yay! - and he's doing well with his crate training. Could Niner be the right fit for your home? We'd love to see you here at the shelter to meet him and our other available dogs. We're all crossing our paws you'll find yourself heading home with a furry new family member.
