Age: 8-10 Years

Breed/Description: Nigel appears to be a Collie/Husky mix. Nigel stands approximately 27 inches at the shoulder.

History: Nigel was picked up as a stray. He walked into the YMCA during the pouring rain and no one ever came to look for him.

Personality: Nigel has an absolutely wonderful personality. He is a very quick learner and is very obedient. He gets along great with any dog that gets along with him: large, small, young, old, male or female. He is also very willingly goes into his crate. He never barks and is very calm. His age doesn't seem to be a factor at all yet, he still goes and runs and plays with the young ones and seems to love it. He does not jump on people, but he does love to slide right next to you in hopes of being petted. He loves human attention and will stand still as long as you want to pet him. Nigel does not seem to be upset by anything nor does he get riled up very easily. He is not housebroken, we assume that he always lived outside so you would have to be willing to tolerate some accidents. He does know "sit" and "shake." Nigel's amazing personality makes him a favorite of many volunteers. He is just an amazing dog!

Notes: Nigel is available at a reduced adoption fee of $100, as are all our senior dogs. This is because we do understand that senior dogs can be more expensive (sooner) than younger dogs. It takes a special person to adopt a "senior." Nigel has called IVAR home since 11.6.03. Profile updated 06/07.
