My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Frank lost his home after his owner passed away a few months ago. He went to Camp Merricks and has been fostered there ever since. When Frank first went to Camp he was confused and sad. He was snappish and growly, and who could blame him his entire world was upended, and he found himself in a boarding facility with a lot of other dogs, sleeping in a crate. While Camp is truly a great place for dogs to be, it wasn't a home with couches and beds and a person to love him.As the months have passed, Frank has adjusted to Camp life, and he seems much happier. He's lost weight and has a smile on his face. He likes his crate and jumps up into it whenever he wants a nap or to chew on a bone. His crate at Camp is above other crates so he can have his own space. Frank likes to have space of his own and a crate provides that. He's a BIG personality in a medium sized dog, but that's to be expected when one has Jack Russell somewhere in the pedigree. While Frank lets other dogs know when he wants his space, he is NOT aggressive and enjoys playing with many of the dogs at Camp Merricks. We are told he had cats as close friends in his former home. While he's happy there, we really want him to find a home where he can relax, nap on the couch or a dog bed, and watch TV with a person. Frank is 10 years old, and we aren't sure how much he weighs around 30 lbs. Frank does fine on a leash, but honestly doesn't need a lot of exercise. A short walk a couple of times a day or a nice, fenced yard would suit him fine.Frank needs someone who will give him time to adjust to another new environment. He can be aloof and grumpy with change but given a little space and time he comes around and is quite a good boy. Once he knows and trusts a person, he is quite friendly and affectionate.
