Isn’t he the most unique-looking dog you’ve ever seen? He is a cutie and so much fun! Napoleon was surrendered by his owner for a few reasons: 1) She was working long hours and couldn’t give him the attention he needed and deserved; 2) She was expecting a child, so #1 would only get worse; and 3) Napoleon was abused by her roommate when she wasn’t there, so he has developed some fearful behavior around new people. All very sad reasons to surrender a dog, Napoleon certainly deserved better from someone he absolutely adored!
Napoleon is about 2 years old and weighs about 32#. As far as breed, he is probably one of everything! He has short legs and a long body with a curly tail and ears that don’t know what to do. He really is absolutely adorable!
Due to the abuse, Napoleon is still a little apprehensive around new people. New people need to ignore him and let him come to them when he is ready. It doesn’t take long, then he is your best friend. He loves treats and playing with his toys—he will even play with someone that he isn’t quite sure about—such a goof!
Napoleon knows many commands—SIT, DOWN, OFF, SHAKE, COME, SPEAK. He is extremely smart and very eager to please. He gets along with other dogs and has been around cats that like dogs. He should not go to a home with children under the age of 12, nor should he go to a busy household where he’d be meeting new people all of the time.
Napleon is housetrained and crate trained. Even though he is crate trained, he had the run of the house and was just fine with that, he was never destructive.
Who wants to give this great boy a forever, loving home?
