Nana Anna

This sweet little girl was reported to a local animal control as a stray. After impounding the dog, animal control received a call saying the person who “found the dog wandering” was actually her owner. The ACO reached out to the woman who claimed the dog was a stray, and she admitting to being the owner. She was moving and couldn’t take her dog, so she falsely reported her as a stray. The situation is sad, nonetheless, but thankfully the little dog wasn’t dumped on the streets like so many others. Her name is Nana. She appears to be a Chiweenie, is 2-3 years old and weighs 11lbs. Nana has been blind since birth and only sees shadows. She has terrible ear infections, allergy related skin irritation, and her nails were super long. She has already seen our vet and will be on the mend soon! Nana is somewhat reactive on a leash, likely because she is blind and not acclimated to leash walking. She can be nippy at times, but we think this is from the pain of double ear infection and not being properly socialized as a blind dog. At this time, we think it is best that she go to a home with no small kids. Nana is also dog and cat friendly. Nana is very sweet and quickly warming up to her foster mom. She will likely be shy and maybe grumpy at first meeting, but once she is comfortable, she will be a perfect little lapdog. She will need a patient family that understands her needs and willing to give her time to acclimate to new surroundings. Nana’s adoption fee is $200. This includes vaccinations, spay, microchip, wormer, and maintaining prevention while in our care.
