Nala

Every fairy tale has a dark part which makes the ending seem brighter, right? Well, those Grimm brothers should have met Miss Nala. Her story deserves a fairy tale all its own. She is a beautiful Golden/Chow Mix who, like many heroines, has had some bumps in her life. Her first owner was deployed overseas when she was eight years old. NCHS took her in and helped her find people to call her own. In less than a year their housing situation changed, and Nala found herself back with us. Nala is a gorgeous girl with a big personality. Typical of a Chow, she chooses her person but typical of a Golden Retriever, she loves that person unconditionally and wants nothing more than to snuggle with them. She would love a home where she can relax by her owner's feet all day long and just keep you company. She is well-behaved around cats but prefers to be the only dog in your life. Nala is independent and values her own space. She's a senior gal with a few aches and pains and like many of us, can be moody sometimes. She will need a little help understanding that you are not trying to steal her food. Nala is looking for a quiet place to share her golden years. Her perfect family would have a fenced yard and, due to her size and independent nature, she'd do better with a family with older children or adults.
