Murphy
is one of a litter of nine puppies born around
Christmas of 2009. His mom looked like a small Chesapeake Bay Retriever cross. We don't know what dad might have been, but based on Murphy's build, coloring and markings we're guessing there's some Red Heeler in the mix, maybe Brittany Spaniel, and possibly some sort of bully breed. Mom weighed about 40 lbs, and Murphy looks likely grow
to about 50 lbs.
His foster mom says he's "the nerd of the bunch" - a snuggly, sleepy, pokey, sometimes dopy little guy, who would much rather take a nap than chase a ball. He is also just as loving as can be, and would rather be with his people than with his siblings. His foster mom has started introducing him to basic obedience. He is learning to walk on a leash, to sit, and to come on command.
Like
all Mikey's Chance dogs, he will come to you current on all
vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped. His adoption fee of $250
includes
the cost of mandatory sterilization at 6-7
months of age.
