Mr. Magnum

What a character. He came to us from the Coos County Animal Shelter. He was picked up on New Years Day. He was at the shelter for 3 weeks and no one came to claim him. We had an opportunity to place him in a foster home. Just a big goof he is fantastic in new situations, people and dogs. In his first foster home he "tracked" the cat and that made the foster mom nervous so we found another foster home without cats. We noticed when getting shown for adoption at the mall, he paid absolutely no attention to any of the cats. He may be curious. Even at the shelter he was allowed to roam around the hallways and offices when the shelter was closed, and he did not bother the roaming shelter cats. He is housetrained. Now the big surprise, his former owners saw him this weekend and was surprised we had him. Said they had been looking everywhere. Interesting since we only have one animal shelter. They said his name was Magnum and he was delighted when we called him by name. We had been calling him Mr. Pickles. He was 8 yrs old and they had gotten him from the shelter 2 years ago. He does have a sideways gait at times and abrasions on his back legs. He had fallen out of a moving truck and was injured. They did take him to a local vet for care. They said he LOVES kids more than adults and is fine with cats, more interested than to injure. Just a fantastic older dog.
