My Story

UPDATE as of 12/16/06: Great news!!!! Sweet little Molly Mae is ready to go to her new forever home now! The veterinary opthalomologist is very pleased with her progress and has given us the go ahead to find her a new home! Molly is full of energy and would love to be in a home with another playful, energetic dog. Now that she has her sight back she loves to chase the cat at her foster home around - so only dog savvy cats who won't mind being chased. Molly also loves to chase the ball in the backyard so she would like a yard where she can go outside and play and run off some of her tremendous energy. Molly will require special eye drops for the rest of her life and periodic visits to the veterinary opthalomolgist - so her new forever family needs to be vigilant about administering the drops and financially able to provide for the added expense of medication and vet visits. Molly Mae loves being around her people and wishes for nothing more than a new forever family for the holidays. Can you make Molly's wish come true? Adoption Donation: $400 UPDATE AS OF 11/15/06: Molly Mae continues her recuperation and is doing fabulously well. Molly is now allowed to run and play (but not too rough yet!) and she is having a grand time of it! It will be at least another six weeks before Molly is ready to move to her new home. Molly will require daily eye drops and periodic visits to the veterinary opthalmologist for the rest of her life - but that is a small price to pay for the return of her sight! UPDATE: Molly Mae has had her cataract surgery and it was a success! She can now see and is learning how to live with sight again. With each day of healing her eye sight becomes more focused and sharp. She is on a strict regimen of eyedrops multiple times a day during her healing period and will require drops for the rest of her life. Molly Mae's foster family is trying to keep her as quiet as possible while her eyes heal - not an easy task when Molly Mae just wants to run and explore the world again! But Molly Mae is on the mend! 10/25/06 - Little Miss Molly Mae is an almost two year old, red (seal) and white Boston terrier girl. Molly Mae weighs just 16 lbs. and is a real love. She recently came to Boston Buddies with juvenile cataracts – a genetic condition that she was born with. She started losing her eye sight when she was around one year old. Even though it is difficult right now for Molly Mae to see anything, she was able to map out her foster home in no time flat and is enjoying her play time with her foster Boston sister, Stella. Molly Mae is housebroken and lets her foster mom know when she needs to go outside to do her business. Boston Buddies took Molly Mae to see a specialist and she is scheduled to have surgery to repair her juvenile cataracts. We are all hoping that the surgery is successful and that Molly Mae will be seeing great again in no time. Her foster mom says that when she regains her eyesight she is going to be a pistol as she is so full of energy. Even with her impaired sight, Molly runs around the backyard at full speed and is always up for a game of tug o war with Stella. Molly Mae will require eye drops for the rest of her life and periodic check up visits with the veterinary ophthalmologist. Can you give Molly Mae the wonderful forever home she so wants?
