Molly-Adopted!

In Mid-August Molly into a new home where her only sibling will be a little Pug! She is doing well and we hope has found her perfect match! Pictures speak better than words and from the photos her new mom sent to us all looks very well in Molly's life!

Molly needs a toddler-free home:

This beautiful, petite, mini-Pei has found it difficult to live with a new baby in the house. Dolly, who is now called Molly, has lived happily in a loving home for the past two years after some time in a Shelter.

For two years Molly got along great with her new family and their other animals. Sadly when a new baby came home she began to show signs she was no longer that happy in this home. Molly has not taken to the new baby and has become stressed and jealous of her new sibling. Her family hopes to find Molly a home without toddlers. Molly does not seem to trust this new crawling, toddling creature but has not had problems with older kids she has met in her new home.

Here is a bit about Molly from her family, May 2007:
In so many ways she is the most wonderful dog I have ever met. When she first came to stay with me she was a mess to say the least. She didn't really like our other dog, she had no idea how to play or associate with other pets and she was very, very nervous. Just laid in the corner alone. I just pet her and spoke nicely to her on the floor a number of times a day and left her alone when she wanted and she started coming around. Slow introduction to the dog parks, other people and lots of walks, lots of love and lots and lots and lots of treats and she is a totally new dog.
She is however very spoiled in some ways and likes her routine very much. She sleeps on her huge bed or our bed, she knows exactly when breakfast and dinner are and squeals and dances around until she gets fed.
She now likes the dog park and will even run around with our other dog. She is much more friendly with other dogs now but will get aggressive if the other dog does first. She has very selective hearing and 'come' doesn't mean alot unless you have food.
She is very happy inside snoring as long as she gets her walks. Indoors she is very low maintenance. She loves laying in the sun and will find any little bit to sleep in.
Physically she looks super. SO different than when I met her. She was obviously very abused and neglected and way overbred. I'm not sure that she would win any beauty contests now, but she looks beautiful and healthy. Her nails are too long. I try and trim them but she hates it so much. I have taken her to the vets to trim them but that just upsets her so much. I probably let them go more than I should but she is very healthy in all other ways.
I feel for her to truly be happy she needs a home with another dog. A very laid back dog. Molly would not like to be left alone. She has never been alone since being here and even being put in another room causes her so much stress that I feel that she may be destructive if alone too much. I guess she could be 'trained' but I think that she has been through enough and just wants company so a home with a dog is a must.
She is in love with our cat and they play and chase each other but she will chase cats outside and has gotten a good few scratches because of it.
She is friendly and sweet and everyone who meets her just loves her. She has never had an accident in the house or been destructive.

Best news ever, Dolly's foster home has decided to adopt her! Congrats on your new home Dolly and thank you LAPS for taking such good care of her and finding her the perfect home! Here are some pics her new home sent us of Dolly and her sister - how cute are they together?!

Great news; LAPS has found Dolly a foster home! Her foster home is temporary so she is still searching for a forever family to adopt her.

Dolly is a visitor at the Langley Animal Protection Services (LAPS), who are quite taken with this wonderful little girl. Dolly is a petite girl; a mini Shar-pei.
Before Dolly came into the shelter, she had a very rough life by the looks of her. She came in with scars from head to toe, and she has clearly been used for breeding most of her life. She HAD a condition called Entropian, which is basically inverted eyelashes, so she is now recovering from the surgery to correct that. This sweet little girl is now the happiest dog we have ever seen now that she is comfortable, fixed up, and cared for. She would be great with kids and adults. She seems to be a bit frightened by some other dogs but we feel she would warm up to them.
