My Story

MARCH 1, 2005: ADOPTED!!

This fellow came to the Fairbanks shelter as a stray, found at the Musher's Hall. He was shy at first, but soon became very friendly and outgoing. Mokey is a nice boy who likes pats and cuddles. He is super-affectionate. He is good with other dogs and rides well in a car. Mokey is very quiet and rarely makes a sound, but he is always ready to play.

Mokey went on a test drive with our volunteers on February 4th, running in a 7 dog team (led by SCL dog Midnight):
"This guy is a very nice well mannered boy. He did very well on the run, not a super hard worker but steady with an efficient gait and sturdy build, and good hair. He is friendly and easy to handle - a little growly with Nutak but fine with other males. He weighs about 60lbs and is solid, possibly a little overweight. Definitely an experienced sled dog, this guy would be great in a rec team."

Mokey is being adopted by his foster home.
