My Story

NOTE: All pups adopted by 2.15.10.

The MilliPups are 7 week old babies who are yearning to get their puppy breath on you! These puppies were taken into rescue when a good Samaritan responded to a "Free Puppy" ad for unvaccinated, unvetted puppies. She could not bear to choose among them or leave any of them behind ... so we have EIGHT adorable adoptable puppies.

Our good Samaritan saw both parents. Mom is a black and very curly Portuguese Water Dog mix. Dad is a Golden Retriever. The parents were medium-sized dogs.

There are two males (one gold, one black) and five females (two black, four gold). As of the 2nd week in February 2010, they are seven weeks old with that irresistible puppy breath. Each of them weighs around 10 pounds except for Winston, the runt, who weighs 9 pounds. Not to worry, though, at the rate he's chowing down he'll catch up to the others any day now! They will be between 30-50 pounds when grown.

The MilliPups have had their first set of shots and deworming. They are eating puppy kibble and are very active, happy, and playful.

Adopters will be responsible for two sets of puppy shots (in the series of four) with Real Good Dog Rescue providing the first and last sets of puppy shots along with their spay/neuter.

Adoption fees for these cutie pies are $175, with $25 being refunded when the spay or neuter surgery is completed. OUT OF STATE ADOPTION POLICY: 1)must be able to either drive to Memphis,TN to collect your pup or be in an area (NORTHEAST US) served by the transport service PETSLLC.net using the transport service will raise the price of adopting to about $350 2)must have a verifiable history of previous excellent pet health care as obtained by checking your vet reference. Do not apply without a vet ref.

If you are interested in adopting, have a look at our adoption website, read the online adoption agreement, complete the online adoption application, and submit it. Make sure to write the name of the puppy you're interested in adopting (see their first picture for names).

If you are unable to adopt at this time, you may sponsor the care of this pet.

We adopt dogs from Memphis Animal Shelter when we can. The shelter has an 83% euthanasia rate, one of the highest in the country. Unfortunately, any dog coming from Memphis Animal Shelter, and most other shelters for that matter, will have been in contact with contagious illness. Even though the dogs have been in foster care and appear to be in good health, they may become stressed when changing environments and exhibit signs and symptoms of illness. If you have other pets, they need to be up to date on vaccines before bringing a shelter dog into your home. We will take the adopted animal back, but we are not responsible for your other animal's vet care. We always disclose where the dogs have come from. Please ask for any information about the dogs and exercise due caution if you have immunocompromised animals.
